Well I have finished #11. Still need to intonate and adjust action, but
pretty much done. This was my first attempt at a soundport and my first
attempt at a cutaway. The cutaway is a bit shallow, it could be a bit
deeper into the upper bout. Acoustically I like it and I think it is going to
get better!!!! This is some of the nicest Koa I have seen

OM 14 cutaway 24.9 Scale
Soundboard - Adi Spruce from Brad Goodman
B & S - 5A Koa from Big Island Acoustic Koa....sorry, not a sponsor
ebony fretboard
Inlays etc from Andy DePaule
Tuners, Gotoh 510 Delta's 1:21 antique gold - my first time with these
and they very nice tuners

truely beautiful,, the craftsmanship is awesome.. I am trying to see it with a deeper cutaway, and yeh, i might like that line a slight bit better, but this one flows well.. The koa looks terrific, i think i see a droopy dog face on the back.. or a woodspirit, or my hippy days are still haunting me

Great looking guitar! So, I'm curious, how do you think the inlay on the soundboard affects the sound? Any obvious differences?

i have to agree with Hesh here, the uniqueness of the guitar combined with impecable workmanship from a "hobbie" builder does have a story in it. I think any guitar nut would read it with interest. With so many guitars looking alike this guitar stands out.. In a very good way.. So the motion has been seconded, you have to do it now.    Definately worth a try

The guitar sound great and it has only been strung up for a few hours. I
don't think that the Koa inly on top will have any effect. Considering Koa
can also be used as a topwood. I think when this one opens up it will be my
favorite instrument. Luckily this one is mine. Most of the ones I have built
are for others so it is good to keep one.

Mike...the photo stuff is with my tiny digital pocket camera. The key to it
this time is that I used seamless photo paper for the back drop. THANKS
JOHN MAYES!!!
I timed it to shoot outside here in La Jolla. Most evenings, the marine layer
rolls in and you get nice natural light without all of the contrast and
shadows. (our marine layer is like a fog bank) Nice sunlight with a light
white "filter" over it. It is like a very nice difuser.
